Cross’d Bite and Blogs

There was a bandit cross race this past weekend in Frick Park called Cross’d Bite, organized by the guys that put on a lot of alleycats in Pittsburgh. It was pouring rain, adding some technical difficulty to the fast 5-minute course at the top of the slags. Nonetheless, there were fun times had all around, though many were forced to finish early due to flat tires. Montana Miller took home the win with yours truly coming 2nd and Mike Tressler coming 3rd. I have to say I was feeling really good and I never even saw Montana until he finished the 1 hour race just behind me, lapping every other person in the field. He will certainly be someone to watch this year.

I know I haven’t been updating this much lately.  Frankly there hasn’t been much to talk about since I took a break from riding and the winter has slowed the training.  But I have saved quite a bit of fitness and am getting excited about the new season and the renewed spirit of the SCE team.  I’ll try and update whenever something exciting happens.  On the other hand, I am excited to start contributing to another blog, pghracing.org, writing about all the more exciting racing careers of local racers.  I am starting with some interviews, which I think will be fun for me as well as others that may come out and race but don’t really know much about the scene and the people that make it happen.  The first one is in the works!
